Superhero photo shoot.

Last week photographer Mathias and I joined forces again to shoot model Katri.

We had two themes for this shoot, Bridal and Superhero. We began by getting Katri in her bridal gown and then I did her makeup and tidied her hair. Mathias had requested a more alternative bridal makeup, so I went with light blue eye shadow, glowing face (Clarins Beauty Flash Balm!!) little bit of peachy bronzer on the cheeks and peachy pink lips. We shot the wedding theme at Käpylä (also known as the garden suburb of Helsinki). It was a very basic click-click pose-pose,click-click stuff so I decided not to make a video of it.

We went back to our Command Centre ;) and we helped Katri into her Superhero outfit and I changed her makeup (Makeup tutorial at the end of this post).

We were located in Arabia (the old town of Helsinki) and Mathias had planned to shoot under a bridge. Katri was marvelous and she and I got a chance to shoot some really good material for my video once Mathias left to fetch a fake gun he forgot to bring. I recently got Sony Vegas Pro 12 video editing tool and was playing around with it in my 1980's video. This time I wanted to go for more cohesive look. Instead of doing a fake movie trailer (Superhero theme) I went for a music video look. At times I thought Katri looked so much like Christina Aguilera circa 2002, that I knew that I wanted to go for a music video look: deep dark shadows, intense blacks, bright lights. It took me about 5 days to put the video together. I'm rather happy with it. I mean because we didn't have any lights or reflectors, the lighting was different in almost every shot. And I spend a lot of time trying to get the flashing lights right in the beginning xD I had so much on my plate at the time I was making the video that once I thought it was good I decided to post it. Katri was such a good sport! She just threw herself in to acting and I was very happy with the material I got. The more material I have the easier it's for me to come up with an interesting video. I don't expect thousands of people to watch my videos, so I'm very happy that this Superhero video has almost 300 views =) Thanks for watching!

Otherwise this was a very relaxed shoot. None of us had any other commitments for the day so we were able to shoot in peace. It was a bit chilly though. And don't you just love that outfit Mathias came up with!! I think it's so fierce! <3 The fluffy wristlets and boot linen were inspired by Black Cat. I had a great time that day so domo arigatou Katri and Mathias! Although, I never want to see grey rocks and fake guns in my images ever again xP I'm getting very bored with them. However I get to do some girly-girl stuff this week with Pinup and Ballet <3
