Disney inspired photo shoot.

Earlier this week I participated in a Disney inspired photo shoot.
I had the pleasure to work with model MissLiddles again, and we joined photographer Mikko to shoot at Seurasaari. Seurasaari is basically an open-air museum on an island. The theme was mostly inspired by Disney's Renaissance period so we felt that Seurasaari would be a very appropriate location for the shoot. Disney Renaissance films are just gorgeous (art wise I mean) and I love Sleeping Beauty, so the material was pretty much writing itself when I pitched the idea to Mikko.

I met with MissLiddles early to do her makeup. She had been kind to do her hair herself so we were able to save some time. When I finished we set out to explore the island.

I make short films of all my photo shoots so whilst Mikko was photographing MissLiddles, I was filming. MissLiddles is a professional model so she doesn't need any directions. I'm a model nazzi, and if it doesn't bother the photographer I direct the model. I only want to make high quality images and to do that, I need 150% dedication from my models. I like giving directions because it also helps the model. When I was modeling I was always hoping that someone would tell me if my hair looked too fluffy or if you could see the fat under my chin, but nobody was giving me any directions. When I got the images I was always like "my necklace is off, my hair doesn't look good like that etc". So when I prepare the models I make sure that they are looking their most beautiful and if necessary I'll direct them during the shoot. Maybe I'll have my own modeling agency one day xD

This was a very succesful photo shoot. Mikko is in the movie business so we got many cinematic images.

Most of the photographers I have worked with, like to choose the location/s before hand, but with Mikko we just went and explored. This gave us a sort of artistic freedom to do what ever we wanted.

Seurasaari is a gorgeous place, so we were able to shoot in many wonderful places.
We also had some comedy on the set. It's a forest so naturally there were mosquitoes --_--
In my case, I'm slightly allergic so when ever a mosquito bites me, the bite swells up like 100% of its original size. My legs looked so pretty the next day (I was wearing shorts and I forgot to take mosquito repellent with me). Can only imagine how it was for Lids for she was wearing a dress. I made a bloopers reel of our mosquito slappings, you can watch it on Youtube. The funny noises you hear is just me squealing everytime a mosquito bit me.

Canadian geese are taking over Helsinki, so we encountered many of them at Seurasaari. Lids had brought bread and nuts with her to feed the geese and squirrels.

All in all, I really enjoyed this photo shoot. I had a great time and we got really amazing images.
The images can be viewed on my facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.473907529361940.1073741833.403590549726972&type=3
And naturally here is the short video I made of this shoot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hSIcxcROag

Thank you for reading and take care!
